                 Green Ginger

Green Ginger is a Chinese and Japanese restaurant. It is located at 95 Laconia Road in Tilton. My friends and I went there last night and we had a lot of fun. This restaurant is open everyday. From Monday to Thursday it is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; on Friday and Saturday it is open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and on Sunday it is open from 12:00 Noon to 9:30 p.m. In this restaurant, you can have special events like New Year’s Eve parties or birthdays. When you finish your meal you can pay with credit cards or cash. This restaurant accepts reservations. The service is: dine in, carry out and lounge. All the waiters were very polite, nice and available to us.

There were different kinds of food: Chinese food and Japanese food. They were both good, not very tasty, but good! I am Italian, but I really love Asian food and I think that that was not special, only normal. We ate many dishes like egg rolls, fried rice, chicken, sushi and so on. People have to order dishes mild, medium or very hot. Sizes of dishes are different: they can be big or small. For beverages you have to ask waiters. There is Coke, Sprite, red and white wine, beer and other kind of drinks.

The atmosphere at Green Ginger was quiet, cold and you could tell that it was a Chinese and Japanese restaurant because the waiters were all Chinese and also because the ambiance was very Asian. I don’t know how, maybe because there were many dragons and candles (indeed it was a little bit dark). There were little windows and wooden chairs and tables. We were in a room all together in two different tables, because the tables were too little for all of us.

It was a great and funny dinner!!!!!! I hope that we will go there another time.  

Pasta!!!

Pasta is my favorite food and I like all kind of pasta, but if I have to choose one, maybe I will choose "Spaghetti al nero di seppia". Look at the picture:

This is a very flavorful dish. It is very strange and at first glance you don't want to eat it because it is all black and so is not very inviting. I think that with this dish cooks give free rein to their creativity because they can beautify it in many different ways and add or remove some ingredients to make it better for them. For example, some people cook "pasta al nero di seppia" with white wine, while other people prefer not to put the wine. I suggest you try this traditional Italian dish and try to understand and distinguish the different flavors of the ingredients. Have fun and then write me about this. 

New Hampton School

New Hampton School has got a big and wonderful cafeteria that is open for breakfast since 7:00 to 9:00; for lunch since 12:00 to 1:00 and at least for dinner since 5:00 to 6:00. The cafeteria is a kind of buffet style and is free for students and faculty. 
This place doesn't allow reservations because doesn't need it. At New Hampton School all weeks we have a different theme and this week is "Culinary Arts" and the cooks allowed us to do a cooking class this was possible because of the kindness of the people who work there.  In the dining hall there are many special events like barbecues and brunches.
I think that the service is great: there aren't waiters and so we have to do everything (like bus our own tables) by ourself, but this is fine because customers are very polite like all the people who come there. Also because the atmosphere in the cafeteria is very calm and ordered. The place is very clean, there is the right temperature because now in the USA is very hot, but the dining hall has got air conditioning. There are also big big windows from which you can see a wonderful view of all the School with his trees, flowers, a lake and birds. That place is plenty of light and is noisy only when there are sports camps, otherwise is quit. In the hall there are many colorful paintings, flags from different countries, wooden chairs and tables. There are eight seats per table, but if we want, we can add chairs. The cafeteria is composed by two rooms (one is larger and one is smaller). All days cooks cook different kind of food and sometimes also international food (Chinese, Italian..). There are many desserts and a lot of fresh fruits and there also many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. We enjoy so much the time that we spend in the cafeteria because we stay all together and we have a lot of fun. I can suggest you to come in this cafeteria.

Technology makes my life better

                    Technology makes my life better

Technology is part of my life and I don't know if I can live without technology. I think this for many reasons, but the most important are these three: 

• First of all, I can write e-mails and send photos to people anywhere in a few minutes while staying in my room. Without technology, if I want to send pictures, I have to go to the post office and wait a minimum of two or three days before they arrive at their destination. Also, instead of e-mails I have to write letters or posts and send them to the post office with stamps on them and this is slower than writing e-mails.
• The second reason is that I use my computer or my telephone to do research for school and learn about things and also to buy tickets for the cinema or the theatre. With technology you can buy them more easily. Without technology, for buying tickets I always have to go to the cinema or the theatre and do the queue. For doing school research, if I don’t have technology, I have to use an encyclopedia or a book and do a summary of the information that I find. I think that this system is a little bit slower and more difficult because you have to think a lot and think about what you need to do. With the Internet, I find all the information I need and I don’t have to write it again.
• The last reason and the most important for me, is that I use technology to keep in touch with family or friends all over the world. In my opinion, this is the best invention because when I go to summer camp I always meet new people who come from different countries. Thanks to technology, I can speak and chat with them whenever I want, even if we are very far from each other. 
  
  
  
  
  In conclusion, I can say that technology changes my life by making it better.

There will come soft rains

                  There will come soft rains


In my opinion this is a very sad poem, but there are some sentences that I like very much like the first one: "There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground". This poem talks about the life on the Earth without humans; I think that this will be better for the nature and for animals because there will be less pollution and so animals can smell better the ground and the fresh air. Another sentence that struck me very much is: "And not one will know of the world". I think that this sentence has many different meaning. Is both sad and full of happiness because there won't be no more wars, but is sad because there won't be humans and so we will disappear. 
This poem makes me feel weird because for me is a sad story, but sometimes there are sentences that said wonderful things. So I think that is a very strange poem, but represents also the persons who wrote it.

Technology is part of my life and i don't know if i can live without technology. I think that this is very important because i can stay in contact maybe with people that i meet in summer camp that come from different countries. It is a very nice thing because i can speak with them in English and improve this language and i can also learn more things about their traditions and cultures. Another wonderful invention of technology is the telephone; with that you can call people from all over the world and text with them and now with this new kind of telephone (like i-phone)  you can do whatever you want: surfing on internet, sending e-mail etc. It is a kind of computer but you can bring it wherever you want. At least i can say that for me technology is one of the best invention that human did.









                                       

Camping!!!!

I have never been in a camping before, so i don't know many things about this and i don' t know also the itinerary that we are going to fallow. I have learned the few things i know in class with a very full vocabulary that help me to know some of the most important equipment that we have to bring with us like tents, torches, sunscreen and many other things. Before going to a camping we have to learn how can we solve an emergency situation and how can we do a first-aid. We have also to pack the essential thing that we are going to use. A part from that i hope that  this experience will be very nice and i hope that i will have a great time with my friends.
